Esther 8:16 Meaning and Explanation

In a brief, radiant verse, the narrator sums up the deliverance: the Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour. Four words of pure relief and rejoicing, piled one upon another, capture the flood of joy that follows their rescue from death. Darkness has turned to light.
