Once again, the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he refused to let them go.

Context

The pattern repeats: a plague, a limited concession, God's relenting, and then Pharaoh's renewed hardening. This cycle has shown that Pharaoh's heart cannot be softened by judgment or mercy alone. His repeated refusal despite overwhelming evidence of God's power becomes more inexplicable and more culpable.

What Does Exodus 10:27 Mean?

The pattern repeats: a plague, a limited concession, God's relenting, and then Pharaoh's renewed hardening. This cycle has shown that Pharaoh's heart cannot be softened by judgment or mercy alone. His repeated refusal despite overwhelming evidence of God's power becomes more inexplicable and more culpable.

The final refusal sets the stage for the most terrible plague—the death of the firstborn. Pharaoh has now exhausted God's patience. His hardness becomes his undoing, and all Egypt will suffer the consequence of his final, irrevocable refusal.
