What Does Ezra 5:14 Mean?
The builders continue their case to Darius. The sacred vessels Nebuchadnezzar had plundered and placed in Babylon's temple were taken out by Cyrus and handed to Sheshbazzar, the appointed governor, to carry back. The very objects of worship had come home.
What the enemy seized, God restored, down to the last holy vessel. Nothing dedicated to Him is finally lost. The return of these treasures is a small parable of redemption: the Lord recovers and sanctifies again what had been carried into captivity, that it may serve His worship once more.
