What Does Hebrews 1:2 Mean?
Having recalled the many earlier words of God, the writer announces the climax: in these last days God has spoken through His Son. The Son is named as heir of all things and as the one through whom God made the worlds, lifting Him above every prophet who came before.
Every earlier revelation pointed forward to this. In the Son, God's voice is no longer partial but complete, no longer through messengers alone but through the One who is both the message and the maker. To know Christ is to hear God speak with finality, and to inherit, with Him, the world He helped bring into being.
