Context
The final verse of the passage, the cosmic closing: God's redemptive work will be visible and abundant, spreading before all peoples.
What Does Isaiah 61:11 Mean?
What God sows in us grows by his tending, not our strain. Righteousness and praise will flourish, as certain as spring, as visible to all the nations. We need not manufacture our holiness or labor to create our worship; it springs up from soil God has prepared. Just as the earth brings forth her bud without command, so the redeemed will produce righteousness and praise by nature, by grace. The cycle of growth is sure.
This is the promise of sanctification: that God works in us to will and to do his good pleasure. The fruit grows; the song rises. And it is not hidden or private but springs forth before all nations, a public testimony. The world will see righteousness flourishing in us, and they will hear praise arising, and they will know that God is at work.
In the Original Language
tzedaqah (Hebrew), 'righteousness' -- not mere moral behavior but right-relationship, alignment with God's character and covenant.
Application
Trust that the righteousness God works in you will grow naturally, without strain. Your praise will spring up like flowers in a garden. Let the fruit show; it is meant for all nations to see.
