What Does Job 9:12 Mean?
Job states the bare fact of God's sovereignty: when He takes away, none can hinder His hand, and none can demand an explanation. There is no higher court, no power that can overrule Him. Job, who has lost nearly everything, knows this truth from the inside.
These are heavy words, yet they are not bitter. Earlier Job had said, the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. To confess that God may take away, and still not curse Him, is faith of the costliest kind.
