What Does John 6:29 Mean?
Jesus gathers all their plural works into one singular work: believe on him whom God hath sent. Trust in the Sent One is the work God asks — the root from which everything else he commands will grow.
The answer is both easier and harder than a checklist. Easier, because the weakest person in the crowd could do it that very hour; harder, because it surrenders the self-reliance that wants to earn.
