Joshua 12:15 Meaning and Explanation

Libnah was a southern city captured in Joshua's campaign after Lachish, and Adullam lay in the lowland Shephelah -- the same Adullam whose cave would one day shelter David in his years of flight from Saul.

Again a name reaches forward to a later chapter of God's story. The land being secured was a land where future faith would be tried and proven. Each place has a history yet to unfold under the Lord's hand. To record these towns is to mark out the stage on which His ongoing work would be played, every site held in His keeping.
