What Does Joshua 14:6 Mean?
The account now zooms in on one man. Caleb, leading men of Judah, comes to Joshua and reaches back nearly half a century to Kadesh-barnea, where the twelve spies had returned from scouting Canaan. He reminds Joshua of a word the Lord spoke through Moses about the two of them, the only spies who had urged the people to trust God and go up.
Caleb does not demand on the basis of his own greatness; he stands on a promise. He remembers precisely what God said, and he holds Joshua, his old companion in faith, to it.
