Anathoth and Almon complete the four cities given to the priests from Benjamin.

What Does Joshua 21:18 Mean?

Two more towns of Benjamin finish this portion, four cities in all. Anathoth would one day be the hometown of the prophet Jeremiah, himself of a priestly family living in just such a city.

The grant made here would still bear fruit centuries later, when a weeping prophet arose from one of these very towns. God's quiet arrangements have long reach. A city given to priests in Joshua's day became the cradle of a voice that called Israel back to God.
