What Does Joshua 5:10 Mean?
Now restored to the covenant, the people keep the Passover at its appointed time, the fourteenth day at evening, on the plains within sight of Jericho. The feast that began in Egypt is kept again, for the first time in the land of promise.
Passover remembers the night God passed over His people and brought them out of bondage. Keeping it here binds the new generation to that ancient deliverance and to the blood of the lamb that spared them. It is a fitting threshold to conquest: they remember they were redeemed before they ever go to war.
