The coming Lord will judge everyone and convict the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds and the harsh words spoken against him.

What Does Jude 1:15 Mean?

This verse completes the prophecy begun in the previous one. The Lord comes to execute judgment upon all and to convince, to convict, the ungodly. Jude presses the word ungodly again and again, hammering home that both deeds and speech will be weighed. Their ungodly acts and their hard speeches against the Lord are all laid bare.

Judgment here means truth fully revealed, every hidden thing brought into the light before the One who sees all. The repetition is deliberate: a life and a tongue set against God cannot finally hide. Yet this same certainty is mercy to those who trust Christ, for the Judge is also the Savior, and those covered by his grace need not fear that day. Jude sets the warning plainly so that readers, while there is time, will turn from ungodliness toward the Lord who pardons.
