1 Corinthians is a letter Paul wrote to a church family who kept comparing themselves and wishing they were someone else.
In this part, Paul helps them see that every single person is needed — just like every part of your body.
Today's Story
The church family in Corinth had a problem. Some people thought they were better than others. And some people thought they were not important at all. That made everyone feel mixed up and sad.
So Paul drew them a picture with words. “Think about your body,” he said. “Your body has many parts. A hand. A foot. An eye. An ear. They are all different, but they all belong to the same body.”
What if the foot said, “I am not a hand, so I do not belong”? That would be silly! The body needs feet to walk. What if the eye said to the hand, “I do not need you”? That would be silly too! The eye cannot pick things up.
Every part is needed. Even the parts you cannot see do important jobs. Paul said God's family is just like that. God put each person right where He wanted them. You belong. You are needed. And God gave you something good to do to help everyone else.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- What is one thing your body does today that you could not do without it — like running, hugging, or tasting a snack?
- Paul said every person is needed. Who is someone in your family or class who does an important job that others might not notice?
- God made you to help others. What is one kind thing you are good at doing?
