1 Corinthians 14 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

1 Corinthians is a letter Paul wrote to God's family. When they met together, things had gotten loud and messy.

In this part, Paul helps them learn how to be together in a way that helps everyone.

Today's Story

When God's family came together in Corinth, it had gotten very loud. Everyone wanted to talk at the same time. Some were saying words that nobody else could understand. It was all a big jumble, like ten people shouting at once.

Paul gently said, “Let's do this a better way.” He told them the most important thing to ask is, “Does this help other people?” If your words help someone learn about God and feel braver and stronger, that is good!

Paul said to take turns. Listen to each other. Speak clearly so everyone can understand. He even said it is good when everyone in the room gets to learn and feel cheered up.

Then Paul gave them a big reason why. He said, “God is not a God of mix-ups. He is a God of peace.” So when God's family is together, we can be calm and kind and take turns — because that is what God is like.
