Paul keeps writing to his church family with a father's love. Today he asks them to stop bragging and to be gentle like he is.
Today's Story
Some people in Corinth were getting puffed up and proud. They thought they were better than everyone else. They bragged, “Look at us! We have it all figured out!”
Paul gently reminded them of something. “Everything good you have,” he said, “is a gift God gave you. So why brag, as if you made yourself special? You did not. God did.”
Then Paul told them what really matters. He said, “A helper does not need to be the most famous. A helper just needs to be the kind you can trust — someone who does what they were asked to do.”
Paul did not have an easy life. He got tired, hungry, and treated unkindly. But here is the beautiful part: “When people say mean things to me, I answer back with kind words,” Paul wrote. He chose gentleness even when it was hard.
And then Paul said the sweetest thing of all. “I am not writing this to make you feel bad. I am writing because I love you, like a dad loves his own children.”
