Paul keeps helping his church family stop arguing. Today he uses a garden and a building to show them how to work as one team.
Today's Story
The church family was still arguing. “My favorite leader is the best!” “No, mine is!” Paul wanted to help them see how silly that was.
So he told them about a garden. “Think of it this way,” Paul said. “One person plants a little seed. Another person comes along and waters it. But who makes the seed grow into a plant? Not them. God does!”
The planter and the waterer are not enemies. They are on the same team, working in the same garden. And God is the One who does the growing.
Then Paul painted another picture. “You are like a building,” he said. “One worker lays the bottom stones. Another builds the walls. But the building only stands strong because of its foundation — and the foundation is Jesus.”
“So do not brag about leaders,” Paul said. “They are just helpers. You belong to Jesus, and Jesus belongs to God. We all build the same thing together.”

- Paul said God is the One who makes seeds grow. What are some things only God can do?
- A house needs a strong foundation. How does it help us to know Jesus is holding our family strong?
