The enemies send the ark back - and God's people learn to treat Him with love and respect.
Today's Story
The Philistines were desperate to get rid of the ark, because the true God's power was too much for them. But how should they send it back? They put the ark on a brand-new cart pulled by two cows, with gifts to honor God, and let the cows go.
Now here's the amazing thing: those two cows had baby calves at home. Normally a mother cow would never leave her babies! But these cows walked straight up the road toward Israel, mooing as they went, not turning to the left or right. It was a sign that GOD Himself was guiding the ark home. Only God could make that happen!
When the ark arrived back in Israel, the people were overjoyed. But they also learned something important: God is holy, and we must treat Him with deep respect, not carelessly. God isn't someone to take lightly - He's the great and holy King.
It's good to be joyful that God is near us - AND to treat Him with the love, honor, and respect He deserves. He is our friend, and He is also the holy God of all.
