The enemies put God's ark in their idol's temple - and God shows He is greater than any fake god!
Today's Story
The Philistines were proud that they had captured the ark of God. They carried it into the temple of their fake god, a statue named Dagon, and set it right next to their idol. They thought their god was the winner.
But God was about to show them who is really in charge! The next morning, when the Philistines came in, they got a shock: their statue of Dagon had fallen down on its face on the ground, right in front of the ark of the Lord! They stood it back up. But the NEXT morning, Dagon had fallen down AGAIN - and this time it was broken to pieces!
The fake god couldn't even stand up next to the real God! And the Philistines started having all kinds of trouble while they kept the ark. They quickly realized: “This ark is too powerful for us! The God of Israel is mightier than our god!” They couldn't wait to send the ark back.
God doesn't need us to defend Him. He is greater than every fake god, every idol, and every power in the world. Nothing can stand against the one true God!
