A young man goes looking for some lost donkeys — and God leads him to something he never expected.
Today's Story
There was a tall young man named Saul. One day, some of his father's donkeys wandered off and got lost. So Saul and a servant set out to search for them. They looked and looked, traveling from place to place, but they couldn't find the donkeys anywhere!
Finally, the servant said, “There's a man of God, a prophet named Samuel, in the next town. Maybe he can help us.” So they went to find Samuel.
But here's the amazing part: God had already told Samuel, “Tomorrow I will send you the man who is to be the new king. Anoint him.” And the very next day, who walked up looking for lost donkeys? SAUL! God said, “This is the one.” Saul thought he was just looking for donkeys, but God was leading him to become king!
Saul had no idea God had such a big plan for him. He was just doing an ordinary errand. But God was at work behind the scenes the whole time, guiding his steps. God is always at work in our lives, even in ordinary, everyday things.
