1 Thessalonians 5 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

This is the end of Paul's letter. He gives his friends a string of short, happy reminders for living every single day.

Today's Story

Paul is almost done with his letter. So he gives his friends a bunch of quick, happy reminders — like a list of ways to make every day shine.

He says, “Be kind to each other. Help anyone who is weak. Be patient. Do good.” And then he gives three little reminders that fit together perfectly.

The first one is: “Always be joyful.” That means find the happy in your day, even small things, like a sunny sky or a good hug.

The second one is: “Never stop praying.” You can talk to God anytime — in the morning, at lunch, even when you are scared in the dark. God is always listening.

And the third one is: “Give thanks no matter what happens.” On good days and hard days, there is always something to thank God for.

Be joyful. Keep praying. Say thank you. Paul says that is what God wants for you, because He loves you so much.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. What is one thing that made you joyful today, even a tiny thing?
  2. Paul said never stop praying. When are some times you could talk to God during your day?
  3. Can you think of something to thank God for on a hard day, not just a happy one?
