One brave man named Micaiah tells the truth, even when everyone else is saying what the king wants to hear.
Today's Story
Good King Jehoshaphat went to visit another king named Ahab. Ahab wanted to go to battle, and he asked Jehoshaphat to come along. But Jehoshaphat said, “First, let's ask God if we should go.”
So Ahab called in 400 men who said they spoke for God. Every single one of them said the same thing: “Go! You will win!” But Jehoshaphat felt something was not right. “Isn't there one more we can ask?” he said.
There was — a man named Micaiah. Ahab didn't like Micaiah, because Micaiah always told the truth, even when it wasn't the answer Ahab wanted. A messenger warned Micaiah, “Just agree with everyone else!”
But Micaiah said something brave: “I can only say what God tells me to say.” And the truth was, this battle would not go well. It was hard to say, but Micaiah said it anyway.
Ahab went to battle and would not listen — and sadly, things turned out just as God had said. Micaiah was right to tell the truth, even all by himself.

- Has it ever been hard to tell the truth, especially when it wasn't what someone wanted to hear?
- Everyone else told Ahab the easy answer, but Micaiah told the truth. Why is telling the truth important, even when it is hard?
- What can help you be brave like Micaiah when you are the only one doing the right thing?
