2 Chronicles 17 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

A new good king, Jehoshaphat, has a wonderful idea: help everyone in the land learn what God says.

Today's Story

After Asa, a king named Jehoshaphat began to rule Judah. He loved God and wanted to do what was right, just like his best days before him.

Jehoshaphat noticed something important. Lots of people did not really know what God said or how He wanted them to live. How could they follow God if they had never heard His words?

So Jehoshaphat had a wonderful idea. He picked helpers and sent them out to every town in the land. They carried the book of God's teachings with them, and they taught the people everywhere they went. Town by town, families learned about God.

Because Jehoshaphat helped everyone know and follow God, the land grew strong and peaceful. Even other kingdoms nearby decided not to fight them.

Jehoshaphat understood a big truth: the best gift you can give people is helping them know God's words.
