Even good King Asa forgot to trust God one time — and God sent someone to lovingly remind him.
Today's Story
For years and years, King Asa had trusted God, and God had helped him every time. But now Asa was older, and one day trouble came again. Another king started causing problems for Judah.
This time, instead of praying and asking God for help, Asa came up with his own plan. He sent gold and silver to a faraway king and asked that king to help him. Asa forgot to lean on God like he used to.
So God sent a man named Hanani to talk to Asa. Hanani said something Asa needed to hear: “God is always looking all over the earth for people whose hearts belong fully to Him, so He can be strong for them. Why didn't you trust Him this time?”
It was sad that Asa forgot. But the lesson is kind and true for all of us. God is never too far away or too busy. He is always looking, ready and happy to help the people who trust Him with their whole heart.
