A man with a message from God tells King Asa a wonderful promise: stay close to God, and He stays close to you.
Today's Story
King Asa had just seen God help him in a big way. As he came home, a man named Azariah, who carried messages from God, walked out to meet him.
Azariah had a wonderful promise to share. He said, “Listen, Asa! The LORD is with you when you are with Him. If you look for Him, you will find Him.”
That message gave Asa courage. He got busy doing the right things. He cleared away the leftover fake gods in the land and fixed up the special place where people came to worship the LORD.
Then Asa gathered all the people together. They made a big promise to follow God with their whole heart — not just a little bit, but all the way. They were so happy and excited that they shouted and sang and blew trumpets!
And because the people looked for God with all their heart, they found Him. And God gave them rest and peace all around.
