A mean king and a giant army try to scare God's people — but King Hezekiah trusts God instead of being afraid.
Today's Story
A powerful king named Sennacherib marched his huge army toward Jerusalem. He wanted to take the city. King Hezekiah saw him coming and got the city ready.
Then Hezekiah gathered all the people. He looked at their worried faces and said something brave: “Don't be afraid! Don't lose heart. There is a greater power with us than with him. He only has men. But the Lord our God is with us to help us!”
The mean king sent scary messages. “No one can save you!” he shouted. “Not even your God!” He tried to make the people give up before the battle even started.
But Hezekiah did not argue back. Instead, he and the prophet Isaiah did the wisest thing of all — they prayed. They cried out to God in heaven and asked Him to help.
And God heard. That very night, God sent help, and the giant army could not win. The mean king had to go home in shame. God had saved His people, just like Hezekiah trusted He would. Everyone was amazed at how strong God is.
