2 Chronicles 33 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

A king does many wrong things — but when he is sorry and prays, God forgives him. It is never too late to turn back to God.

Today's Story

Manasseh became king when he was only twelve years old. Sadly, he made many wrong choices. He turned away from God and would not listen, even when God tried to warn him. He did this for a long, long time.

One day, a strong enemy army came and took Manasseh far away to another land. They put him in chains, and he was all alone in a strange place. It was a very low and lonely moment.

And there, in his trouble, Manasseh finally remembered God. He bowed down low and prayed with all his heart. “Please forgive me,” he begged. He was truly sorry for everything.

And God heard him! God was moved by his prayer. He forgave Manasseh and brought him all the way back home to be king again. Then Manasseh knew for sure: the Lord is the one true God.

From that day on, Manasseh was a changed man. He tore down the fake gods he once built and told the people to follow the real God. The same king who had gone so far wrong came all the way back.
