2 Corinthians 10 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

2 Corinthians is a letter Paul wrote to help God's family love God and love each other.

In this part, Paul shows us where his real strength came from.

Today's Story

Some people were saying unkind things about Paul. They said, “Paul talks big in his letters, but he is not so strong in person!” They thought Paul was weak.

Paul did not shout back or brag about himself. Instead, he said something surprising. He did not trust in his own muscles or his own clever words. His strength came from God.

Paul wrote, “If anyone wants to brag, let him brag about the Lord.” That means: do not point to yourself and say, “Look how great I am!” Point to God and say, “Look how great He is!”

When worried or wrong thoughts came knocking — thoughts like “I can't” or “God isn't with me” — Paul did not let them stay. He handed those thoughts to Jesus and trusted Him instead.

We can do that too. When a scared or grumpy thought comes, we can say, “No thank you. I belong to Jesus, and He is bigger.” Our biggest strength is not in us. It is in God.

Talk About It

  1. Has a worried or grumpy thought ever popped into your head today? What was it?
  2. Paul gave his hard thoughts to Jesus. What could you say when a scared thought comes knocking?
  3. Instead of bragging about ourselves, Paul said to brag about God. What is one great thing about God you could tell someone?
