2 Corinthians 2 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Paul keeps writing his letter to God's family. In this part, he teaches them what to do when someone has been sorry for doing wrong.

Today's Story

Someone in the church family had done something wrong. It had hurt people, and everyone was upset about it.

But here is the thing — that person was now very, very sorry. You could see it on his face. His heart felt heavy and sad about what he had done.

So Paul wrote and said something surprising. He told the church, “Now is the time to forgive him and comfort him.” Paul did not want the man to stay sad forever. That would be too much sadness to carry.

Paul said, “I want you to show him that you still love him.” When someone is truly sorry, we do not keep being angry. We open our arms and welcome them back.

Forgiving is not always easy. But it is one of the kindest things God's family can do. When we forgive, we look a lot like God — because He forgives us too.

  3. Is there someone you need to forgive? What is one kind thing you could do to show them you still love them?
