When trouble comes, where do you turn first? A king named Ahaziah makes the wrong choice - and Elijah asks him a question we should all remember.
Today's Story
King Ahaziah had an accident and got badly hurt. Lying in his bed, he wondered, “Will I get better?”
Now, who do you think he should have asked? The one true God, of course! But instead, Ahaziah sent his messengers to ask a pretend god in another town. He turned to a fake instead of the real thing.
God sent Elijah to meet those messengers on the road with a question that goes straight to the heart: “Is there no God in Israel? Is that why you're going off to ask a pretend god?”
What a question! There was a God in Israel - the real, living, all-powerful God who loved His people and answered prayer. He had been right there the whole time. Ahaziah just didn't bother to ask Him.
It's a good reminder for us. When we're hurting or worried or need help, we don't have to run to anything fake. The real God is right here, ready to listen. Go to Him first.
