Acts 3 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Peter and John have no money to give a hurting man — but they have something far better.

Today's Story

One afternoon, Peter and John were going to the temple to pray. At the gate sat a man who had never been able to walk. Every day, friends carried him there to beg for money. “Please, spare a coin?” he asked Peter and John.

Peter looked right at him. “Silver and gold I don't have,” he said. “But what I DO have, I'll give you. In the name of Jesus Christ — get up and walk!” Then Peter took the man's hand and helped him up.

Instantly, the man's feet and ankles grew strong! He jumped up, stood, and began to walk — then to leap and dance, praising God! He went right into the temple, walking and jumping and shouting, “Praise God!”

Everyone who knew him was amazed. “Isn't that the man who used to sit and beg?” Peter told them, “It wasn't our power that did this. It was the power of Jesus! Faith in His name made this man strong.”

Peter didn't have money, but he had something far better to give — the love and power of Jesus.
