God sends Philip on a desert road for a special meeting that changes a man's life forever.
Today's Story
God told Philip, one of the helpers, to go to a lonely desert road. Philip didn't know why, but he obeyed. There he saw a chariot carrying an important man from far-away Ethiopia — a royal official who took care of the queen's treasure!
The man was reading from the scroll of Isaiah, but he didn't understand it. The Holy Spirit told Philip, “Go over to that chariot.” So Philip ran up and asked, “Do you understand what you're reading?” The man said, “How can I, unless someone explains it?” And he invited Philip to sit with him.
The scroll was about Jesus! So Philip explained the good news — how Jesus came, loved us, and rose again. The man's heart filled with joy and faith. “Look, here's some water!” he said. “Can I be baptized?” So they stopped the chariot, and Philip baptized him right there.
The man went on his way rejoicing, full of joy, carrying the good news of Jesus all the way back to his country in Africa!

Memory Verse
Talk About It
- The man couldn't understand the Bible until someone explained it. Who helps explain God's Word to you?
- Philip obeyed God and went, even without knowing why. Why is it good to obey God even when we don't understand yet?
- The man went away full of joy. Why does the good news about Jesus make people so happy?
