Colossians 4 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

This is the last part of Paul's letter to help God's family love God and love each other.

Paul says goodbye, but first he gives a few warm last words.

Today's Story

Paul was almost done with his letter. Before he said goodbye, he had a few important things to share with his friends.

“Keep on praying,” Paul told them. “Stay awake and pray, and remember to say thank You to God.” Paul knew that talking to God is one of the very best things we can do.

Then Paul said, “Be wise and kind to everyone you meet. Let your words be gentle and full of grace, like food with just the right amount of salt.” He meant that our words should be tasty and good, the kind that make people feel loved.

Paul also wanted to pray for his friends. He told them about a man named Epaphras who prayed for them all the time, asking God to help them grow strong.

Then Paul named his friends one by one and sent them his love. “Give each other a warm hello for me,” he wrote.

At the very end, Paul wrote with his own hand, “Remember me. God's grace be with you.” It was a letter full of love, from the first word to the last.

Talk About It

  1. Who is someone you could pray for today, like Epaphras prayed for his friends?
  2. Paul said our words should be kind, like food with just the right salt. What is a kind thing you could say to someone today?
  3. Paul ended his letter with love. If you wrote a letter to someone you love, what would you say?
