Ecclesiastes 12 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

This is the very last chapter of Ecclesiastes. After all his searching, the wise Teacher finally tells us what life is really all about.

Today's Story

The Teacher had searched his whole life for the answer to one big question: what makes life truly matter?

He had tried everything. Fun, work, money, being wise — he had looked at it all. And now, at the very end of his book, he was finally ready to tell us what he found.

First, he said something gentle to young people: “Remember God now, while you are young! Don't wait until you're old and gray. Your days are bright and full of energy — so think about the God who made you, starting today.”

Then the Teacher took a deep breath and said the most important thing in the whole book. He said: “Here is the end of the matter. Here is what everything comes down to. Love God and follow Him with all your heart. This is what every person is for.

After all that searching, that was the answer. Life is a gift — and the best way to live it is to walk close to the God who made you, and gave it.
