Ephesians is a letter. A man named Paul wrote it to a town called Ephesus, to help God's family love God and love each other.
Today's Story
Paul was far away from his friends, so he did what we do when we miss someone — he wrote them a letter.
But this letter does not start with “How are you?” It starts with the most wonderful news in the world.
Paul says that before the world was even made — before the sun, before the sea, before the very first morning — God already knew you. And God already loved you. He picked you to be part of His family, on purpose, with a big happy smile.
Think about that. You were not a surprise to God. You were not an accident. God wanted you. He chose you the way you might pick a best friend.
Paul says God did all of this “because it made Him happy.” It made God glad to love us!
And here is the best part. When God brings someone into His family, He never lets go. He puts His mark on us, like a king pressing his special stamp, so everyone knows: this one is Mine.
So Paul says thank You, thank You, thank You to God. He just cannot stop being thankful.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- Have you ever been picked for something — a team, a turn, a helper job? How did it feel to be picked?
- God chose you before the world was even made. How does it feel to know He wanted you that much?
- If God never lets go of His family, is there anything we ever need to be afraid of losing?
