Esther 10 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Our story ends with the once-in-danger Mordecai using his new power to help everyone.

Today's Story

Our story of Esther comes to a close. The king made Mordecai his second-in-command — the most important person in the whole kingdom after the king himself! Remember, this was the same Mordecai who had once been in great danger because of wicked Haman. Now God had lifted him up high.

But Mordecai didn't use his power to make himself rich or to boss people around. Instead, the Bible says Mordecai worked for the good of his people. He used his important position to help others, to speak up for those who needed it, and to bring peace.

That's what God loves to see: when He blesses us or gives us anything good, we use it to help and bless others.

From a scared orphan girl and a faithful man who wouldn't bow, God brought rescue for a whole nation. He took ordinary, faithful people and used them for extraordinary good — all while quietly working behind the scenes the whole time. And that same God is still working today, in your life and mine.

Talk About It

  1. Mordecai used his power to help others, not himself. How can we use the good things we have to help others?
  2. God lifted up Mordecai and Esther because they were faithful. What does it mean to be faithful to God?
  3. All through the story, God was working behind the scenes. How does that encourage you about your own life?
