Esther 9 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

God's people are saved — and they start a brand-new yearly party to remember it forever!

Today's Story

On the day the wicked law was supposed to harm them, God's people were able to stand together and stay safe, just as the new law allowed. God protected them, and they were rescued from their enemies. What was meant to be a terrible day became a day of victory!

The Jewish people were so thankful and joyful that they decided to celebrate every single year, to remember how God had saved them. They called the celebration “Purim.”

Mordecai wrote to all the people: “Every year, on these days, celebrate! Have feasts and parties. Share food with each other, and give gifts to the poor. Remember how our sadness was turned into joy, and how we were rescued!”

And so, even today — thousands of years later — Jewish families still celebrate Purim! They read the story of Esther, cheer for the heroes, share treats, and give gifts. They remember that God saved His people. It's good to remember and celebrate the wonderful things God has done!
