Ezekiel was God's helper who lived far from home, by a big river. One day the sky opened up — and what he saw was the most amazing thing ever.
Today's Story
Ezekiel was sitting by a wide river, far away from home. Then he looked up — and gasped.
A huge storm was coming out of the north. A giant cloud rolled in, flashing with lightning. And right in the middle of it was a glow, like fire, shining like gold.
Then Ezekiel saw shining wheels. Big, sparkling wheels that gleamed like jewels. They could go any direction without turning — up, down, sideways, anywhere — fast as a flash of lightning. Wherever the wheels went, they did not wobble or fall.
Way up high, over the top of it all, there was a bright blue space like the sky. And above the sky there was a beautiful throne. And on the throne — light. Light so bright it looked like fire and rainbows and the sun all at once.
It was God. It was the shining glory of God, brighter than Ezekiel had words for.
Ezekiel could not even keep standing. He fell down with his face to the ground. He had seen something so wonderful, so big, so bright, that all he could do was bow.
And then a voice began to speak to him.
A Big Word

- Ezekiel saw something so wonderful he fell right down. Why do you think seeing how big and bright God is would make a person want to bow?
- God is even more amazing than the brightest, most beautiful thing you can imagine. What do you want to say to a God like that?
