Ezekiel 7 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

For a long time, God had waited and waited for His people to come back to Him. In this chapter He says the waiting time is almost over — so the wise thing is to turn to Him now.

Today's Story

God gave Ezekiel a very serious message. “The end has come,” God said. “The day I warned about is almost here.”

For years and years, God had been patient. He kept sending messengers to His people, saying, “Please come back to Me. Stop doing wrong. I love you.” But the people kept saying, “Not now. Maybe later.” They kept on doing whatever they wanted.

So God told them the truth: the time to keep ignoring Him had nearly run out. The pretend gods they had trusted — their statues and their piles of silver and gold — would not be able to help them at all. Only the real God could do that, and they had been turning away from Him.

It was a sad message. But God was being honest because He is fair, and because He always keeps His word. He was giving His people one more chance to listen.

And here is the good news hidden inside: it is never too late to turn to God. The moment a person says, “I'm sorry, I want You,” God is ready to welcome them. Today is always the best day to come close to Him.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. When have you had to get ready for something — like getting dressed for school or packing for a trip? What happens if you wait too long and run out of time?
  2. God waited a very long time and kept asking His people to come back. What does that tell you about how patient and kind God is?
  3. The good news is that it is never too late to turn to God. Is there anything you want to say to Him right now, today?
