Hebrews 1 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Hebrews is a letter someone wrote to God's family to help them love God and keep going when things got hard.

The big message of the whole letter is simple: Jesus is greater than anything and anyone.

Today's Story

A long time ago, God's family had a question. They wanted to know: who is the most important one of all? Who should we listen to most?

So someone wrote them this letter, and right at the very start it gives the answer. It says that long ago, God spoke to people in lots of different ways. He sent helpers called prophets to tell people what He was like.

But now, the letter says, God has spoken to us through His Son, Jesus.

And then it tells us how amazing Jesus is. Jesus made the whole world — the stars, the seas, every animal. Jesus shines with God's own brightness, like sunshine pouring out of the sun. And Jesus holds everything together by His powerful word, the way you hold a ball in your hands.

The letter says that even the angels in heaven bow down and worship Jesus. He is higher than the highest angel. He sits in the best seat of all, right beside God.

“Let all of God's angels worship Him,” the letter says.

There is nobody bigger than Jesus. And that same big Jesus loves you.
