Isaiah 10 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

A big, proud country thought it was the strongest of all. God reminded everyone who is really in charge.

Today's Story

There was a country that had grown very big and very proud. It pushed smaller people around and bragged, “Look how strong I am! Nobody is as mighty as me!”

But God gave Isaiah a message to share. God said something funny and wise. He said: an axe should not brag against the person who chops with it. A saw should not boast against the hand that holds it!

In other words, that proud country was only a tool. It was not really the boss. God is the boss, and He sees everything - including when the proud are unkind to others.

Then God turned to His own people, who were scared of the big bully. He said gently, “Don't be afraid. This will not last. I am watching over you, and I will take care of you.”

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. Have you ever met someone who likes to brag about being the best? How did that feel?
  2. God said an axe shouldn't brag against the person using it. Who is someone that helps you do things you couldn't do alone?
  3. God told His people not to be afraid of the big bully country. When something feels too big for you, what could you say to God about it?
