God gave Isaiah a message about Egypt - and it ends with one of the most surprising, happy promises in the whole Bible.
Today's Story
Egypt was a famous, powerful land. The people there were proud of how clever and wise they were, and they had many little statues they prayed to instead of God.
So God gave Isaiah a gentle message for them. He said that all their cleverness and all their statues could not really help them when trouble came. Only the real God could do that. It was God's loving way of saying: I am the One you actually need.
But then Isaiah said something amazing - something that would have made everyone's mouth drop open.
He said a day was coming when the people of Egypt would know and love the real God! They would build an altar to Him and call out to Him, and He would answer them and rescue them, just like a good Father.
And it gets even better. Egypt and Assyria and Israel - three lands that used to be enemies - would become friends. They would travel a road between them and worship God together, side by side.
God gave each of them a loving name. He called Egypt “my people,” Assyria “the work of my hands,” and Israel “my own special treasure.” Old enemies, all loved, all belonging to God.

Talk About It
- Have you ever had a friend who used to feel more like a foe? How did you become friends?
- God called faraway lands “my people” and “my special treasure.” How does it feel to know you belong to God too?
- Isaiah said old enemies would worship God side by side. Is there someone you find hard to get along with that you could be kinder to this week?
