When the people were scared, they wanted to run and fix everything themselves. God's message through Isaiah was gentler than that - and much kinder.
Today's Story
God's people were frightened. Trouble was coming, and instead of asking God for help, they wanted to run all over the place trying to fix it on their own. They were in a panic.
So God gave Isaiah a very different kind of message. Not loud. Not rushed. He said, “In quietness and trusting Me is where your strength comes from.”
Isn't that surprising? When we're scared, we feel like we have to hurry and worry and do everything at once. But God said the strong thing to do is to get quiet, take a breath, and trust Him.
And God made the most comforting promise. He said that whenever they weren't sure which way to go, they would hear His voice behind them, gently saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.” Like a loving guide, right behind them, pointing the way home.
The Bible says God was even waiting - longing to be kind to them, ready to help the moment they turned to Him.
God isn't in a hurry, and He isn't cross. He waits, ready to help, whispering the right way to go.

Talk About It
- When you feel scared or worried, what does your body want to do - run, hurry, hide, cry?
- God said our strength comes from being quiet and trusting Him. Why do you think getting quiet can actually make us stronger?
- God promised to whisper “This is the way” like a guide right behind us. How can we listen for God when we're not sure what to do?
