Isaiah 54 for Kids

For Kids · 4 min with a grown-up

Right after Isaiah's promise about the gentle One who carries our hurt, God says something so warm: My love for you will never, ever leave.

Today's Story

God's people had felt lonely, like a family that was far too small and far too sad. So God spoke to them with the gentlest words.

“Sing!” God said. “Burst into song! Make your tent bigger - stretch the ropes out wide and make room. Because your family is going to grow and grow. There will be so many of you!”

Then God told them how much He cared. “Don't be afraid,” He said. “I am the one who made you, and I will take care of you, like the very best dad takes care of his children.”

God knew they had felt left out and alone. So He promised, “For a little while it felt like I was far away. But now I am gathering you back with so much kindness. My love for you is forever.”

Then God said the most amazing thing of all. He pointed to the big mountains and said, “Even if the mountains shake and slide away - even if the hills disappear - my kind love for you will never be shaken. My promise of peace will never go away.”

Mountains are the biggest, strongest, steadiest things we know. And God said His love is even steadier than that.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. Have you ever felt left out or lonely, like nobody wanted you around? God says you belong to Him and He will never leave you. How does that feel to hear?
  2. God said even if the mountains slide away, His love for you stays. What are some things in your life that change - and isn't it good that God's love never does?
  3. God promised to care for His people like the very best dad. What is one way someone takes good care of you?
