Isaiah 66 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

This is the very last chapter of Isaiah. God finishes His long message with some of the most comforting words in the whole book.

Today's Story

Isaiah came to the end of his long message from God. And God saved some of the gentlest, most comforting words for the very end.

First, God reminded everyone how big He is. “Heaven is My throne,” He said. “The whole earth is like a footstool for My feet.” The whole sky and the whole world belong to God! But this giant God looks for the person with a soft, humble heart who listens to Him.

Then God said the most tender thing. He promised to take care of His people the way a loving mother takes care of her little one. “As a mother comforts her child,” God said, “that is how I will comfort you.”

Have you ever been hurt or scared, and your mom or grown-up held you close until you felt better? God says that is what He does for us.

And God promised something even bigger. He would gather people from every land and every language to come and see how wonderful He is. Not just one group - people from everywhere, all coming together.

God promised to make every wrong thing right and to give His people lasting peace. And that is how the book of Isaiah ends - with God holding His children close.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. When you feel sad or hurt, what helps you feel better - a hug, a blanket, a song?
  2. God says He comforts us like a loving mother. How does it feel to know God wants to hold you close when you are upset?
  3. God promised to gather people from every land and language. Can you think of someone who lives far away that God loves just as much as you?
