Everyone around Isaiah was scared and looking for help in the wrong places. God had a better idea: trust Him.
Today's Story
In Isaiah's day, the people were afraid. Big armies were near, and everyone was whispering about scary things that might happen. Some people even started asking spooky, sneaky things for help instead of asking God.
So God gave Isaiah a message for the people. He said, “Don't be afraid of the things everyone else is afraid of. Don't let those worries fill up your heart.”
Instead, God said, “Treat Me as the special One. I am the one to trust. And I will be a safe place for you to hide - like a strong rock to stand on.”
God reminded them: don't go looking for help in the dark and the spooky. Look up to God, who loves you, and listen to His words. He is bigger than anything that scares us.
A Big Word
Memory Verse
Talk About It
- Where do you like to go when you feel scared or upset - a special spot, a person, a cozy blanket?
- God said, “Don't be afraid of what everyone else is afraid of.” Why might it be easy to feel scared just because other people are scared?
- God called Himself a safe place to hide. What is one worry you could hand to Him right now?
