Jeremiah 46 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

God gave Jeremiah messages for the big countries all around, not just for his own people. This one is about Egypt.

Today's Story

Egypt was one of the biggest, strongest kingdoms in the whole world. It had a mighty army and tall, shining cities. The people of Egypt felt very sure of themselves. “Nobody can stop us!” they said. “We will rise up like a great river and cover the land!”

But God gave Jeremiah a message. “Egypt is not as strong as it thinks,” God said. “I am the one who is truly in charge — of Egypt, and of every land. The biggest army in the world is small next to Me.”

That was a reminder for everyone: no country is too big for God, and no problem is too strong for Him.

Then God turned and spoke softly to His own people. “Do not be afraid,” He said. “I am with you. I have not forgotten you. I will save you and bring you home. You belong to Me.”

While Egypt was busy bragging about how strong it was, God was quietly taking care of the people He loved. He always does.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. What is the biggest, strongest thing you can think of — a whale, a mountain, a giant truck? God is even bigger than that. How does that make you feel?
  2. The people of Egypt bragged that they were the strongest. Why is it better to be kind and humble than to brag?
  3. God told His people, “Do not be afraid. I am with you.” What is something a little scary for you that would feel easier if you remembered God is right there?
