Jeremiah 45 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

This chapter is a tiny love note from God — to the quiet helper who worked hard behind the scenes.

Today's Story

All this time, Jeremiah had a helper named Baruch. Baruch had a very important job: he carefully wrote down every message God gave to Jeremiah, word by word, on a scroll. He was a faithful, behind-the-scenes helper.

But Baruch was tired. There had been so many hard days. He sighed and said, “Oh, I feel so worn out and sad. Will my heart ever feel happy again?”

And do you know what? God noticed. God saw quiet, tired Baruch — the helper most people might forget — and God spoke just to him.

“I see how hard this has been for you,” God said gently. “I know you are tired. Don't worry. I will take care of you. I will keep your life safe, wherever you go.”

What a kind thing for God to say! Baruch was not famous. He was not a king. He was just a faithful helper with a tired heart. But God saw him, and loved him, and made him a special promise all his own.

A Big Word

Talk About It

  1. Baruch was a helper who worked hard behind the scenes. Who is a quiet helper in your life that you could say thank you to today?
  2. Baruch felt tired and sad, and God saw him. When you feel tired or sad, what helps you remember that God sees you too?
  3. God made Baruch a special promise just for him. How does it feel to know God knows your name and cares about your heart?
