Job 12 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Job's friends thought they knew everything. So Job answered them — and he pointed to the animals to make his point!

Today's Story

Job's friends thought they were very wise. So Job gave them a wonderful answer.

“You want to know who is truly wise?” Job said. “You do not have to look very far. Just ask the animals, and they will teach you. Ask the birds in the sky, and they will tell you.”

“Ask the fish in the sea,” Job said. “Even they know the answer! Every one of them knows that the hand of God made them and takes care of them.”

Job was saying that real wisdom and real strength belong to God. God is in charge of the whole world — the tall mountains, the deep oceans, every season, and every living thing.

The little sparrow knows it. The big whale knows it. The wise old owl knows it. All of creation knows that God holds everything in His hand.

So the next time you see a bird fly by or an ant march along, you can remember what they already know: God is wise, God is strong, and God is taking care of His whole world — including you.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. Job said even the animals know God made them. What is your favorite animal, and what does it teach you about God?
  2. God is in charge of the mountains, the oceans, and every living thing. What is one big part of the world you are glad God takes care of?
  3. If God takes care of the little sparrow and the big whale, how do you think He feels about taking care of you?
