Job 17 for Kids

For Kids · 3 min with a grown-up

Job has had hard day after hard day. In Job 17, he is very tired — but even when he is worn out, he keeps holding on to God.

Today's Story

Job was so tired. His hard days had gone on for a long, long time, and his strength felt almost gone.

“I am worn out,” Job said softly. “My friends do not understand me. The days are heavy. I am weary all the way down.”

Have you ever been so tired and sad that you just wanted to rest? That is how Job felt.

But even when Job was at his very tiredest, he did not let go of God. Like a person holding a rope with both hands, he held on tight.

Deep inside, Job believed that God was still good. He believed that morning would come again, even after the longest, darkest night.

And that is what hope is — holding on to God even when you are tired, and trusting that He will not let you go.

A Big Word

Memory Verse

Talk About It

  1. When you feel really tired, what helps you feel better — a rest, a snack, a hug, or quiet time?
  2. Job was weary, but he held on to God anyway. What is something hard that you could keep holding on to God through?
  3. Job believed morning would come even after the darkest night. Why is it good to remember that hard times do not last forever?
