Job's friends keep talking, and now Job answers them. Even while he is hurting, Job stops to think about how amazing God is.
Today's Story
Job listens to his friend Bildad. Then Job answers him.
Job already knows God is great. So he starts talking about all the wonderful things God can do.
“God hangs the whole earth on nothing at all,” Job says. Picture that — the giant ball of the earth, floating, held up by God's hand.
“God wraps up the rain inside the thick clouds,” Job says, “and the clouds do not even rip open. He drew a circle on the water to mark where the day ends and the night begins.”
Job thinks about thunderstorms and deep oceans and the far edges of the sky. “And do you know what?” he says. “These are only the edges of the things God does. We only hear a tiny whisper of how powerful He really is!”
Even on his hardest day, Job remembers that God is bigger than any problem. That helps Job keep going.
A Big Word

Talk About It
- What is one thing in nature that makes you say “wow”? Maybe a storm, the ocean, or the moon?
- Job says the big things we see are only the edges of what God can do. What do you think the rest is like?
- Job was sad, but thinking about God made him feel stronger. What helps you feel better when you are sad?
